Who we are
WebSite Relief is an Oklahoma-based website design, hosting, management and support business, serving clients across the United States. This policy covers what we collect through websiterelief.com, why we collect it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Information you give us
Almost everything we hold about you, you typed into our contact form. That form asks for your name and email (required), and optionally your business or organization, phone number, current website address, which service you need, a budget range, a timeline, and a description of what is going on.
We ask for a budget range so we can answer honestly about fit. If you would rather not say, leave it blank — it is not required, and we will still reply.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, ours sits on a web server that keeps request logs. Those logs record your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you requested, the site that referred you, and the date and time. Our security plugin additionally records failed login attempts and blocked requests so we can keep the site from being taken over.
We also use analytics to understand which pages people actually read. See the Cookie Policy for the specifics and how to turn it off.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and, if it is a fit, to quote and deliver the work you asked for.
- To keep the site online, fast and secure.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can write better ones.
- To meet our record-keeping and tax obligations.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. We do not send marketing email to people who simply filled in the contact form; if we ever start a mailing list, it will be one you deliberately join.
Who else touches it
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, and only to do their job:
- Our hosting provider stores the website, its database and its backups.
- Our email provider delivers form submissions to our inbox and our replies to yours.
- Google provides analytics and Search Console data about site traffic.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and our clients from abuse.
Data on websites we build or manage
When we host, manage or maintain a website for a client, we may encounter data that belongs to that client — their form submissions, their customer records, their email. In that relationship we act on the client’s instructions, not our own. We do not use client data for our own purposes, and we do not move it between clients. If you submitted information to a site we manage for someone else, that site owner controls it, and their privacy policy applies.
How long we keep things
- Contact enquiries: up to 24 months, so we can pick up a conversation you started last year.
- Server and security logs: typically 30 days.
- Website backups: on a rolling schedule, generally 30 to 90 days.
- Invoices and project records: as long as tax and business record rules require.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can decline analytics cookies through the banner or your browser. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will stop.
To make any of those requests, use the contact form and say what you want done. We will confirm when it is finished. If you are in a place with specific privacy rights — the EU, the UK, California and others — we honour those rights regardless of where you are writing from.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, sits behind a security plugin that limits and logs login attempts, and is backed up on a schedule. Administrative access is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not collect payment card details on this website, which removes the most sensitive category entirely.
Children
This is a business services website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Links to other sites
Our portfolio links to websites we have built. Once you land on someone else’s site, their privacy policy governs, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be obvious, not buried.
Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about what we hold on you, go through the contact form. A real person reads it.
